Sherrone Moore made a priority of bolstering his support staff both in structure and number in the opening months of his tenure as Michigan head football coach. Sources tell The Michigan Insider that he scored another big addition today, swiping Ohio State’s Assistant AD of Football Recruiting & Events, Erin Dunston, to be the new Director of Operations in Ann Arbor.

Said by one industry source to be “an absolute rock star” in her role in Columbus, Dunston was just promoted to her assistant AD role for the Buckeyes in February after serving the previous three years as the director of on-campus recruiting.

As the Director of Operations for Michigan, she will handle the program’s planning and logistics, and will report to Scott Goldschmidt, who will now be the program’s Associate Athletic Director of Operations. She will also be able to assist Michigan’s Director of On-Campus Recruiting, Kayli Johnson, who Dunston previously mentored, in on-campus recruiting efforts.

Dunston is the third hire Moore has lured away from rivals, following running backs coach Tony Alford who also came from Ohio State, and Johnson, who came over from Michigan State. The Michigan Insider first reported news of Johnson’s hire and of Moore targeting Alford.

Dunston had worked for the Buckeyes since 2021. In her most recent role, she was responsible for “coordinating all recruiting efforts with a primary focus on official visits, unofficial visits, game day recruiting programming, junior days and special events,” according to OSU football. She also worked “in conjunction with the creative staff to support social media channels” for Ohio State.
