Birmingham city

Despite he’s leaving Birmingham City today ‘Disappointment will be on Chris Davies

The former defender joined the Foxes as Assistant Under-23s manager in the summer of 2016 after arriving from Aston Villa’s academy, before going on to take charge of the side in recent seasons.

Ben leaves with the thanks of everyone at Leicester City for his contribution to the Club’s Development Pathway over the last eight years and best wishes for the next step in his career.

It feels like Birmingham City are a while away from ‘a dream transfer window’.

That summer will consist of transfer records being broken on a weekly basis for Premier League players that can elevate the club to the next level.

For now, we can get excited about the prospect of Blues building a Championship ready squad in League One.

It’s why the few players who have been linked with the club are a cut above League One.

Scott Twine – a player Burnley forked out £4 million for two years ago – might be out of reach, but Marc Leonard is both realistic and exciting.

BirminghamLive understands there is interest in Leonard, a 22-year-old midfielder who shone for Northampton in League One last season.

Leonard recorded five goals and six assists in an almost ever-present campaign.
