SAD NEWS: Alabama crimson tide head coach has been fired for……

Alabama continued its recruiting momentum on Tuesday afternoon when four-star offensive lineman Jackson Lloyd announced his commitment to the Tide.

Lloyd, the No. 187 player nationally, committed to Alabama among offers from Ohio State, USC and more.

Lloyd officially visited Alabama during the June 14 weekend and has shut down his recruitment ahead of a scheduled visit to USC this weekend.

Lloyd, a 6-foot-7 and 290-pound prospect from Carmel, Calif., has a long history with Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer.

Lloyd was offered by DeBoer at Washington in June 2023 and was a priority prospect up until DeBoer transitioned to Alabama; DeBoer was hired on Jan. 12 and offered Lloyd on Jan. 15.

That relationship withstood a position coach change from Scott Huff (now with the Seattle Seahawks) to Chris Kapilovic, and several months later, Lloyd became the 17th overall commitment and the seventh in June.

This week’s commitments specifically (Asparuhov, Simmons and Lloyd) illustrate a recruiting strategy by DeBoer to lean into his West Coast ties while prioritizing building relationships in the Southern footprint.

Ten of Alabama’s commitments reside in a state with an SEC school, and there are four commitments from California, which is more than Alabama’s past three recruiting classes combined.

The other three commits reside in Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Before Lloyd’s commitment, Alabama’s 2025 class was ranked No. 3 nationally, according to 247Sports.

Alabama addressed the interior of the offensive line with commitments from Carroll and Waldrep, and Lloyd’s addition offers a tackle prospect with intriguing athletic potential.
