Ohio State football got a massive recruiting win on Tuesday afternoon, as 2025 in-state running back Bo Jackson opted to stay home and play for the Buckeyes.

The best in Ohio, stay in Ohio, and that was exactly the case. At 6-foot and 205-pounds, Jackson already has a college-ready frame and his junior season highlight tape backs up his recruiting ranking. He’s ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the nations No. 81 overall player and 5th running back.

After watching his impressive past year, he brings a big-time skill set to Columbus. Check out below what Jackson will bring to the Ohio State running back room.

In the 2024 recruiting cycle, Ohio State football landed the No. 1 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.

Now that Rivals has updated its 2025 recruiting rankings, the Buckeyes 2025 quarterback commit, Tavien St. Clair, continued his rise in the rankings. He has gone from a mid-330 ranked player all the way to the No. 14.

Rivals bumped St. Clair up 26 spots to be its No. 11 player and was suggesting that he could unseat USC quarterback commit Julian Lewis. Clearly he could have to continue to jump multiple other prospects, but given his significant boost over the last year it doesn’t seem out of the question.

It would be a great feather in head coach Ryan Day’s cap to have consecutive recruiting cycles landing the top player. However, at the end of the day, as long as St. Clair produces in Columbus, no one will care what his ranking was.

In case you missed it, redshirt freshman C.J. Stroud was named the starting quarterback for Ohio State and its opening game against Minnesota on Sept. 2. There was an arms race of sorts among Stroud, Jack Miller and Kyle McCord, but Justin Fields’ backup from last season was given the keys to the kingdom because he checked all the boxes Day and staff were had.

The quarterback competition at OSU is always hot when a new signal-caller takes over, and it was no different this season.

We’re going on a journey of taking a look back at the opening-day starting quarterback for Ohio State over the last 20 years. Hopefully, it’ll jog your memory on all of the playmakers and surprises at quarterback on the banks of the Olentangy when the seals were broken on each season.
