Boston Celtic

Heartbreaking News: Larry Bird daughter found dead in swimming pool…….

The Boston Celtics have begun their title defense by selecting two NCAA standouts in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The Celtics followed up Wedneday’s selection of Creighton’s Baylor Scheierman by drafting Gonzaga forward Anton Watson.

Baylor Scheierman worked out with the Boston Celtics two years ago when he was considering going pro, but decided to stay in college and improve his game.

He developed into an even better player in his two years at Creighton, and on Wednesday night, his dream of becoming an NBA player became a reality when the Celtics drafted him with the final pick of the first round in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Scheierman now gets a chance to join the defending NBA champions, and is excited to bring his energy and shooting touch to Boston.

He spoke with the Boston media over Zoom on Thursday, and it sounds like he’s already ready to run through a wall for the Celtics.

The 2024 NBA Draft is in the books, and it was a unique experience for Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens.

His selection of Creighton wing Baylor Scheierman at 30th overall marked his first time using a first-round pick since taking over as Boston’s front-office leader in 2021.

“My son texted me yesterday, ‘I’m not staying up to see you trade back, am I?'” Stevens told reporters during his post-draft press conference.
