The talk about the Jazz starts around the 22:00 minute mark. Windhorst says there are times when it seems like Danny Ainge will have trade discussions and then not make a move. This time, he says, it feels more like when he’s going to make a trade. We are not far removed from the famous Brian Windhorst meme before the Rudy Gobert trade when Windhorst asked “What is happening in Utah?”
Tim Bontempts mentions that Danny Ainge doesn’t lose trades so if teams want to trade with the Jazz, they’ll have to pay the right price. The team they mention the most in the trade is the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs definitely have the assets to make something happen and could give something really nice to the Jazz.
Windhorst does mention that it’s possible they still keep him because this situation might fall through but there is a lot of smoke surrounding the Jazz right now.
It’s perhaps not the big name Utah Jazz fans were hoping for, but the team did make an addition on NBA free agency’s first full day Monday.
The Jazz came to terms with center Drew Eubanks on a 2-year, $10 million contract, in a move first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Eubanks, a 6-9 center, spent last season with the Suns after two years with Portland and three with the San Antonio Spurs.
