Sad news from Norwich City…

While Norwich will be looking to break into the play-off places in the new year, Huddersfield’s season objective is simply to survive in the Championship.
As it stands, the Terriers are averaging a point per game in the second tier and they are just above the drop zone as the halfway point approaches.
Things have not gone the way Norwich fans would have wanted this season, but they have enjoyed an upturn of results recently, going four matches unbeaten and most recently drawing 2-2 with East Anglian rivals Ipswich at Portman Road.
Defender Ben Gibson is nearing a return for Norwich, who will likely hand another start to Jon Rowe after his brace in the East Anglian derby.
Norwich have lost only four of their 11 home games in the Championship this term, having picked up 19 of their 31 points at Carrow Road.
The Canaries have seen an average of 3.55 goals in their Championship fixtures this season and both teams have scored in 16 of their 22 league fixtures.
Huddersfield have leaked 36 goals in 22 league games this season – that is an average of 1.64 goals per game.
Norwich rode their luck at times in Saturday’s East Anglian derby at Ipswich, but they led the game 2-1 in the second half and dug deep to take a point away from Suffolk.
In doing so, they avoided a first defeat against Ipswich since 2009 and spirits should be high in the Canaries camp heading into Saturday’s clash with Huddersfield.
Prior to the Ipswich draw, Norwich took seven points from games with Bristol City, Preston and Sheffield Wednesday and they are knocking on the door for a place in the play-offs.
As for Huddersfield, they have found a way to avoid defeat, racking up ten draws in the Championship this term, including three in their last four matches.
But four wins in 22 games is relegation form and they need to start pushing for wins if they are to achieve a sense of security in the Championship.
Norwich have also rediscovered their mojo in front of goal, scoring at least two goals in four of their last five matches.
Jon Rowe is a man in form with ten goals in 20 games after his brace against Ipswich and he can contribute to a high-scoring match, with Norwich worth backed to win a match featuring at least three goals at Carrow Road.
