Great News: Denver Broncos Announced The Signing Of Another Top Experienced Superstar….
The next quarterback in the lineup next season will be one of Jared Goff’s favorite targets to catch passes for.
Josh Reynolds, a wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, and the Denver Broncos reached a two-year free agency agreement on Wednesday. Potential value of the deal is $14 million.
Reynolds finished the 2017 season with 608 yards and five touchdowns on 40 receptions, ranking third among Lions wide receivers. He played with Goff for the Los Angeles Rams from 2017 to 2021. He was claimed off waiver by the Tennessee Titans in 2021, and he joined the Lions in the middle of the season.
Despite general manager Brad Holmes’ insistence on Tuesday that Reynolds was their “Plan A” receiver in free agency, the Lions were willing to spend money on a player who most likely would have started the following season as their No. 3 receiver and were interested in re-signing Reynolds for 2024.
At the beginning of free agency, they made a below-market contract offer, and in the last several weeks, they haven’t spoken with Reynolds’ camp much.
Leading receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is back with the Lions, and Jameson Williams could see increased offensive responsibility in his third season. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs and tight end Sam LaPorta, who finished second on the team with 86 receptions and 889 yards the previous season, are also back after excellent rookie seasons.
Graham Glasgow, an offensive lineman, has signed a three-year, $20 million contract with the Lions.
Jonah Jackson leaves the Lions in order to join the Los Angeles Rams and keep Matthew Stafford safe.
In 38 games with the Lions, Reynolds caught 97 passes for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns; but, in the team’s January NFC championship game defeat to the San Francisco 49ers, he dropped two crucial catches.
The Lions, who will have the second-best passing attack in the NFL in 2023, are still looking to add a veteran and a rookie wide receiver to their group, which already includes Antoine Green (one reception, 2 yards) and Kalif Raymond (35 catches, 489 yards).
Earlier this month, they re-signed Donovan Peoples-Jones to a one-year contract. He was acquired by them from the Cleveland Browns in a midseason trade the previous season.
