Very Bad News: Kansas City Chief Head Coach Angry and Announced resignation immediately….

Chiefs did not select him in the league’s seven-round draft.

Instead, the two-time defending Super Bowl champions signed Rees-Zammit as a free agent after he left the sport of rugby behind and opted to try out a new football code.

Rees-Zammit this spring signed a three-year contract worth up to $2.8 million, a move that prompted immediate fascination and curiosity as to how the former rugby union winger would adjust to the speed and physicality of the NFL.

The Welshman has faced some doubts regarding his preparedness for gridiron football, especially while suiting up for the NFL’s best team, but he is slowly starting to earn his stripes at the Chiefs’ summer training camp.

Rees-Zammit’s size (6’2”, 209 pounds) and athletic ability are qualities that will allow Chiefs head coach Andy Reid to experiment with the player, trying him in different roles as Kansas City prepares for the new season.

But Reid’s eyes may have been opened when Rees-Zammit made an impressive over-the-shoulder grab in single coverage during a training camp drill.

Rees-Zammit broke to his right from the snap, cut inside, and then weaved back toward the sideline before hauling in the pass — the latest attention-grabbing moment from the 23-year-old.

Rees-Zammit has been trying to learn everything he can and get up to speed within an extremely competitive group of players, and he appears to be making sound progress on developing a complete offensive game.
