My condolences: Kansas City Chief QB (Patrick Mahomes) and his Three year old baby die in car crash…..

Butker, a Super Bowl-winning kicker, negotiated the four-year, $25.6 million contract himself, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

The contract includes $17.8 million in guaranteed money, making Butker the highest-paid kicker.

This deal surpasses the $6 million-per-year average earned by Jake Elliott and Justin Tucker.

The 29-year-old kicker has been a vital part of the Chiefs’ success since joining the team in 2017.

Known for his consistency, Butker converted 33 of 35 field-goal attempts and all 38 extra-point attempts last season.

His performance has been instrumental in the Chiefs’ three Lombardi Trophy victories since 2020, including a record-setting 57-yard field goal in their recent Super Bowl win against the San Francisco 49ers.

Throughout his seven seasons with Kansas City, Butker has achieved an 89.1% success rate on field goals and 94.5% on point-after attempts.

His career-long field goal of 62 yards was set in 2022.

In postseason play, he has maintained an impressive 88.9% on field goals and 95.4% on PATs.

Butker’s journey to becoming the highest-paid kicker in the league began when he was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

After being signed to the Panthers’ practice squad, he joined the Chiefs early in the regular season due to an injury to incumbent kicker Cairo Santos.

Since then, Butker has consistently delivered clutch performances, including game-winning kicks in the 2022 postseason against the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game and the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.
