Asi has started in the last four games for Parramatta and has made 11 appearances across the season with only two of those coming from the bench.
The two-time Samoan international had signed for the Eels ahead of the 2023 season in which he made ten appearances under current Leeds Rhinos head coach Brad Arthur.
However, with the Eels struggling, injuries to stars such as Mitchell Moses and a new coach in place, Asi has found more playing time this season but he’s still reported to be making a move to Super League for the 2025 campaign.
Daejarn Asi started his NRL career with the North Queensland Cowboys, debuting in the 2020 season as he scored a try in a defeat to Penrith Panthers.
Playing alongside him in the halves that day was former Hull FC man Jake Clifford who looks set to sign a contract extension with the Cowboys after returning to his boyhood club following his one season in Super League.
It now appears Asi will take the same path as Clifford and make the switch to Super League with The Telegraph reporting that is “expected”.
They also note that Regan Campbell-Gillard and Maika Sivo have been given permission to leave, despite being under contract.
