The Hampton Bulldogs traveled to Pigeon Forge on Friday night, aiming for revenge after last season’s 24-14 loss to the Tigers.
However, two costly turnovers put Hampton in a 14-0 hole by halftime.
The Bulldogs finally got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter with a touchdown and successful two-point conversion, narrowing the gap to 14-8. Pigeon Forge quickly responded with a touchdown to extend their lead to 20-8.
Hampton answered with another touchdown, cutting the deficit to 20-14, but time ran out, and the Bulldogs couldn’t complete the comeback.
Hampton will look to bounce back when they host the Johnson County Longhorns on Friday night at J.C. Campbell Stadium.

After being arrested for a DUI 3rd offense, she told her arresting officer’s supervisor that he had raped her.
After the accusation, body camera footage from the incident was downloaded and shown to the police sergeant. The officer was quickly cleared.
