The Green Bay Packers suspended wide receiver Romeo Doubs for the Week 5 game against the Los Angeles Rams, citing conduct “detrimental to the team.”
In a Saturday news release, general manager Brian Gutekunst said Doubs’ behavior this week disappointed him.
Doubs missed two team practices this week, according to NFL insider Ian Rapaport.
“Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend Romeo for this week’s game,” Gutekunst said.
“His decisions and actions during the week negatively impacted the team and required us to take this action.
While we are certainly disappointed, we are confident that we will be able to move forward in a positive manner.
Romeo is a valuable member of our team and we look forward to welcoming him back next week.”
The Packers did not specify what behavior prompted them to suspend Doubs.
The Green Bay Packers reportedly aren’t interested in trading wide receiver Romeo Doubs in the wake of the decision to suspend him for the team’s game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
The 24-year-old Doubs is in the midst of his third NFL season after the Packers selected him in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL draft out of Nevada.
Doubs has started all four games this season, recording 12 receptions for 169 yards and no touchdowns.
He is second on the team in both catches and receiving yardage behind Jayden Reed.
In his rookie season, Doubs carved out a fairly significant role for himself on the heels of the Packers trading No. 1 wideout Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders.
