Breaking news: Tar Heel head coach just summitted his resignation letter to the management.

Last week, we got some respite from the frustration of the 2024 North Carolina football season, as they went on the road and handled business against Virginia without much trouble.
Now this weekend, they’re set to play another game that is, on paper, very winnable.
However, it is a matchup filled with a history of frustration for Mack Brown and the Tar Heels.
This Saturday, UNC will hit the road and head to Tallahassee to take on Florida State.
Famously, a Brown-coached Tar Heel team has never beaten FSU in either of his two tenures in Chapel Hill.
That includes all sorts of games, like when the 1997 team ran into a buzzsaw in all top five matchup and games like or ones like 2020 when a then top five Carolina team still couldn’t snap the streak against an FSU team that went 3-6.
This year might be his best chance to end this particular unfun fact.
For one, this might be the last year Brown will be coaching UNC, but also this year’s Florida State team is not exactly good.
On the heels of last year’s controversial College Football Playoff snub, Mike Norvell’s team came into 2024 ranked in the top ten.
However, a Week 0 loss to Georgia Tech in Ireland kicked off what has been a dramatic fall.
Going into this weekend’s game, FSU is just 1-7, with their only win coming over a now-struggling Cal team.
