Arkansas razorbacks news

Rest in Peace: A Plane Crash Claims the Lives of Two of the Arkansas Razorbacks Best Players…

A passing barrage from No. 18 Ole Miss left Arkansas football defensive backs in the dust as the Rebels (7-2, 3-2 SEC) cruised to a 63-31 victory Saturday.

The Razorbacks (5-4, 3-3) gave up 562 yards passing and failed to contain Ole Miss wide receiver Jordan Watkins, who racked up 254 yards receiving and five touchdowns.

The five scores tie a single-game record for an SEC receiver.

Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart finished the game 25 of 31 with 515 yards passing, and three of his touchdowns to Watkins were at least 60 yards through the air. Ole Miss out-gained Arkansas 694-492.

On offense, the Hogs couldn’t protect their quarterback. Arkansas allowed eight sacks, and the Razorbacks went with Malachi Singleton in the second half after Taylen Green suffered a right leg injury in the first quarter.

In the aftermath of that field-storming win, Coach Sam Pittman was in demand for big-outlet interviews as the Razorbacks basked in the accolades of the defensive number they did on the previously high-flying Volunteers.

This week, the energy is in a much different direction after last Saturday’s 63-31 home loss to No. 19 Ole Miss, which dropped the Hogs to 5-4 overall and 3-3 in SEC play.

The Razorbacks have had three chances to post their first back-to-back SEC wins since late 2021, but those opportunities were scuttled each time, with a 21-17 loss to Texas A&M in Arlington, Texas, a 34-10 setback at home against LSU and the wrong side of the wild shootout against the Rebels.
