St George Illawarra

Fans of the St. George Illawarra dragons share their thoughts on Zac Lomax’ recent traffic stop connected to a supposed concealed weapon…..

St George Illawarra fell to pieces when it mattered most in 2024 with their finals fate slipping out of their own hands as they slumped to four losses in their last five games.

The collapse left Shane Flanagan fuming during his first season in charge with a number of veterans brought in to solidify the side.

Damien Cook and Valentine Holmes will improve the Dragons but major question marks will surround the club at halfback after the decision to cut Ben Hunt.

Shane Flanagan identified a need for a more experienced core of players running through his side and quickly went about fixing this with the additions of Val Holmes and Damien Cook.

If rumours are to be believed, the moves in the market won’t end there though with the Dragons also throwing their hat into the ring for Clint Gutherson.

Zac Lomax will be a massive loss after he tore it up on the wing that ultimately led to State of Origin and national selection.

Flanagan is building a potent backline with Moses Suli and Tyrell Sloan capable of producing the goods when at their best.

But this lack of consistency is what the coach will be desperately seeking to address in the summer across his squad, as well as a replacement for Hunt after the skipper was released from the final year of his deal.
