A Legacy Returns: Five-Star QB Mason Stabler, Grandson of ‘The Snake,’ Commits to Alabama, Will Wear Iconic No. 12…

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – South Dakota-native and Alabama Football head coach Kalen DeBoer said Thursday that not only will his second year at Tuscaloosa hopefully resemble the second years he’s had at Fresno State and Washington, but having a large majority of the team return will help as well.
Alabama only lost a handful of players to either the NFL Draft or the transfer portal, meaning many of the starters last year are back for more. DeBoer said just as much as having an established coaching staff is important, so is having a team full of players with experience, and eager to win it all at the collegiate level.
“Lost three guys early to the NFL Draft. Eight seniors was all from last year’s team. So, a lot of guys returning that chose to not go to the NFL and stick around. Believing in their development, believeing in the experience and what we can do this year. We have high expectations, as we should. But it really comes down to the work, and the guys are doing that. The accountability, it gives us a chance,” DeBoer said.
DeBoer said the Crimson Tide does have a tough schedule this year, but that’s on purpose to show that this year’s Alabama team is up to the task of taking on anyone in the country, and beating them.
