The Ohio State Buckeyes were crowned the national champions for the 2024 college football season, following a 34-23 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Ohio State finished the season with a 14-2 record, defeating Tennessee, Oregon, Texas and Notre Dame during their College Football Playoff run.

The Buckeyes fielded one of the most explosive offenses in the nation, helping them earn their first national title since 2014, and much of that success came behind freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.

Smith established himself as Ohio State’s No. 1 wide receiver and arguably the best wide receiver in the country during his freshman season.

Following the national title victory for Ohio State, Smith has reportedly received a $4.5 million offer to enter the transfer portal, per On3.

Smith’s current On3 NIL valuation stands at $4 million.

According to Adam Wells at Bleacher Report, the freshman wide receiver’s valuation increased by $300,000 following Ohio State’s national championship victory.

During his freshman season with the Buckeyes, Smith recorded 15 touchdowns and 1,315 yards on 76 receptions.

Given his elite play, Smith was awarded the Big Ten Wide Receiver of the Year and Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

Following the news of Smith’s reported $4.5 million offer to enter the transfer portal, some fans took to social media to share their thoughts.
