A crash on Burnt Store Road near Charlee Road in Lee County has reportedly resulted in a fatality, according to the Florida Highway Patrol traffic map.

 

According to Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno, the northbound and southbound lanes of Burnt Store Road were blocked as emergency responders attended to the situation, Wednesday at around 5:30 p.m.

 

Air rescue also responded to the scene.

The road was closed for about four hours, according to drivers.

A man was killed and another injured after a two-vehicle crash in Punta Gorda.

 

The collision occurred on Burnt Store Road at Notre Dame Boulevard at 1:39 p.m. Friday.

 

According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, a sedan was traveling north on Burnt Store Road, on the right lane, approaching the intersection of Notre Dame Boulevard.

 

At the same time a second sedan was traveling south on Burnt Store Road, on the left turn lane, and entered the intersection to travel east on Notre Dame Boulevard.

 

The front of the first sedan collided with the front right of the second vehicle.

 

The first sedan landed upside down in a ditch with the victim who was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center with serious injuries.

 

The other driver, a 70-year-old man, died at the scene after he was ejected from his car onto the road.
