SAD DEPARTURE: Georgia Bulldogs Head coach and 5 other players announce departing from the team due to……Read More
The Georgia Bulldogs can feel confident they are in a good position to land one of the top playmakers in the 2026 recruiting class after the star revealed his plans for visits.
Already seemingly in pole position to land in-state two-way star Tyriq Green, the Bulldogs are also in the mix for one of the premier receivers in the class.
Georgia was recently named by four-star receiver Calvin Russell (Miami Northwestern, Fla.) as one of his top-12 schools.
It is no surprise that the three traditional Florida powers are near the top of the pecking order.
Though Georgia’s proximity to his home state may have factored into Russell’s thinking, the Bulldogs’ presence on his list of five definite visits should raise hopes of the program improving their receiver ranks with his addition.
The fourth-ranked receiver in industry rankings, landing Russell would be a tremendous boost to the Bulldogs, who are in danger of having ninth-ranked receiver Vance Spafford poached by USC.
If the Dawgs can avoid losing Spafford and manage to tempt Russell to move away from his home state of Florida, Georgia’s passing game will be in a very promising spot for 2026 and beyond.
