“I AM LEAVING”: Eliah Drinkwitz announced that he is leaving Mizzou today another significant issue in the team….

Eli Drinkwitz of Mizzou: Darius Robinson will provide the Cardinals the same amount of money they gave him.
Darius Robinson, the 27th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, is a defensive lineman for the Arizona Cardinals, and head coach Eli Drinkwitz of the Missouri Tigers is enthused about him.
It goes beyond the simple fact that Robinson’s drafting signifies the lineman’s or Mizzou’s program’s success individually. It was because Drinkwitz was appreciative of the five years that Robinson spent playing for Missouri under his tutelage.
“He supported me when many others wouldn’t have,” Drinkwitz said to Bickley & Marotta on Friday. “At a time when things weren’t going well and he could have given up and moved on, he chose to stay, trusted the process, and had faith in the university, his teammates, and himself.”
Drinkwitz stated that Robinson will contribute to the club, making the Cardinals’ first-round investment worthwhile.
“You’re getting a guy who will be a tremendous teammate and it will mean a lot to represent Cardinal nation. He’s going to give that organization and those fans everything he’s got, every single day,” Drinkwitz stated.
Drinkwitz expressed to Bickley & Marotta how amazing the Cardinals’ selection of Marvin Harrison Jr., a wide receiver, and Robinson in the first round of the draft was.
“They both come from winning programs, so I know they’re coming in there with the right mindsets, and I think they’ll be good additions to the team,” Drinkwitz stated.
Over the course of his five seasons at Missouri, Robinson recorded 112 tackles, with
13 sacks and 21 tackles for a loss.
Drinkwitz notes that Robinson’s switch from defensive tackle to defensive end during his tenure at Missouri was a significant turning point.
Drinkwitz stated, “It goes back to his team-first mentality.” We challenged this young player, who was expected to be selected in the middle of the draft as a defensive tackle, to take a very dangerous risk. We thought that he was the greatest player for our team to go to a defensive end position, something he had not worked his entire career to do, but he did it selflessly and did a great job at it.
In his last season with Missouri, Robinson racked up 29 tackles—14 of which were for loss—along with 8.5 sacks.
“He can move to a sub-three on a third-down pass rush and play a five (-technique) on first and second down,” according to Drinkwitz. “He will be extremely challenging for an offensive lineman to block, and he will be a highly challenging pass block for a guard or center to make.
