ITS A DONE DEAL: Another mega star player committed to the Kansas state wildcats just….

Kansas State’s 2026 recruiting class lost one of its members over the weekend.

Brandon Ford, a three-star defensive back from Texas, has withdrawn his commitment to the Wildcats and flipped to a Big 12 rival. He now intends to play football for Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Ford’s change of plans means that K-State now has 16 pledges instead of 17.

Ford was the first 2026 football recruit to commit to the Wildcats last fall. But other teams continued to recruit him, and he eventually changed course to Oklahoma State. He also held scholarship offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Houston, Nebraska, SMU, Texas Tech and others.

K-State did also receive some good news around Independence Day.

Tucker Ashford, a four-star defensive end from Fort Worth, announced his plans to play for the Wildcats on July 4.

Several Big 12 teams, including the Colorado Buffaloes, will begin fall camp next week, making it an ideal time to predict how the conference will unfold during the 2025 season.

The Big 12 is by far the most competitive power conference heading into the season, with multiple teams believing they can win a title.

Arizona State, the defending conference champions, is back to defend its title, while Kansas State appears to be its top challenger.

Texas Tech will also have a say, along with Colorado, Kansas, TCU, Baylor and Iowa State. You can create more parity than what the Big 12 presents.
