Parramatta Eels Head of Pathways, James Shepherd, expressed his confidence in the coaches leading into the 2026 season.
“We’re incredibly proud of what our players and staff achieved in 2025, and we’re building on that with a coaching team that brings experience, energy, and a real commitment to developing young talent.
“These roles are crucial to the future of the club, and we’re looking forward to another big year of hard work, growth, and performance across all our Pathways programs,” added Shepherd.

The immediate focus, however, is on defeating Newcastle at CommBank Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Knights have plenty to play for, with Adam O’Brien to coach his last game for the club.
The players are desperate to send the mentor out with a win before they turn their attention to next year’s season opener in Las Vegas.
The 23-year-old, who had already taken up an option to remain with the club until the end of 2026 earlier in the year, has now extended his tenure even further.
He will now remain in Sydney’s west until at least the end of 2028, solidifying his role in the Eels’ backline for years to come.
Penisini confirmed this in a press conference on Monday, where he discussed his love for the club following the extension.
