St George fans were led into a trap after their win against the Titans in round 1 with the Dragons reverting to their 2023 form, if not worse, getting crushed by the Dolphins in a poor defensive display.
North Queensland have beaten the Dragons in their last four matchups including a 26-point victory last time they played at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in 2022.
The Cowboys defence has put in two responsibly good performances and will be able to withstand the attack of the Dragons.
The Cowboys beat the Dragons 42-22 in round 11 last year with Tom Dearden, Kyle Feldt and Heilum Luki all scoring doubles.
North Queensland have beaten St. George in the last four appearances and in six of the last eight matches played since 2019.
The Dragons put in a good performance against an undermanned Titans side in round 1 beating the Gold Coast 28-4.
Things went a different way in round 2 though, getting absolutely dusted 38-0 by the Dolphins.
The Dolphins had over 433 more run metres than the Dragons and controlled the game with 64 percent of the territory.
The goal line defence of the Dragons was poor, conceding 7 tries with the Dolphins having just 25 tackles in the St George defensive 20 metres. The Dragons also made 13 errors.
