Alabama versus. North Carolina: March Madness 2024 predictions and odds

The goal of No. 1 UNC’s Sweet 16 clash against No. 4 Alabama this Thursday is to stifle their explosive attack.

Even though Alabama’s attack is excellent, their defense was the real star of the show as they limited No. 12 Grand Canyon University to just 61 points in their Round of 32 match. North Carolina is obviously much more difficult to defend, but the Crimson Tide will have a strong chance of winning if Alabama’s defense can hold off UNC at a rate even something like what we saw against GCU.

Conversely, the Michigan State Spartans, led by Tom Izzo, presented a formidable opponent for the Tar Heels. Even in situations when they are not performing at their peak, champions always manage to come out on top. Carolina won’t allow those difficulties to occur again in a row, which is fortunate given that the Tar Heels are 11-0 when they shoot 48% or better this season. Maybe UNC can capitalize on Alabama’s 44% shooting defense, which it has allowed opponents to do all season.
