Brisbane’s decision also puts added pressure on the third-placed Warriors to not have a slip-up against the 14th-placed Dolphins this weekend.
If the Warriors are upset at Suncorp and the Storm beat the under-strength Broncos, it will mean Melbourne finishes in third, while the Warriors would slide down to fourth.
