The basketball team, making its first Final Four appearance, has the support of the Alabama football team.

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — Count the Crimson Tide football squad among the Alabama men’s basketball team’s supporters when they hit the court for their program’s first-ever Final Four game.

Michigan native Nick Sheridan, the offensive coordinator, revealed on Thursday that he attended a basketball game some years ago at Romulus High School while head coach Nate Oats was in charge of the team. Rumulus was loaded, according to Sheridan. Even the local high school students made a great deal out of coming to see.

“I was a third baseman [at Saline High School], so I don’t know why I went to the basketball game,” he said. The coaching staff employed forward Grant Nelson’s Sweet 16 performance against North Carolina as an illustration of a 1-0 attitude during a unit meeting throughout the week. “What a great job Coach [Oats] has done, and the staff, and most importantly, the players,” stated Sheridan. “Boys, [Mark] Sears was all fire. It really was incredible, don’t you think? He continued by saying that the group is giving its fellow athletes their all.

On Wednesday, defensive lineman Tim Keenan III offered his own words of encouragement. “Best wishes to all of you. Simply carry on with what you’re doing. I’m not going to tell you anything different. Please know that not only do I support you, but the entire state does as well.” Keenan expressed his admiration for Sears’ perseverance in defying the odds. He says the Crimson Tide will prevail. Oats attended the same institution as former Indiana head football coach Tom Allen, who introduced Oats to defensive coordinator Kane Wommack several years ago.

“I’ve always found him impressive,” Wommack remarked on Wednesday. Seeing successful individuals who perform at a very high level and according to the correct principles is entertaining. You notice a lot It’s truly exceptional for these individuals, who have fought so hard to reach this stage as seniors, to be honored at the end of their career. I’m eager to see them.

At State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, on Saturday night at 7:49 p.m. CT, the fourth-seeded Crimson Tide square off against the No. 1-seeded UConn. Alabama didn’t even get to the NCAA Tournament the previous time the Glendale site hosted a Final Four. The squad is vying for a national championship seven years later, which would mark yet another first to follow the Final Four berth. The men’s and women’s Crimson Tide teams have never participated in the national championship match. In 1994, the women’s team advanced to the national semifinals before losing to Louisiana Tech by a score of three points.
