VERY SAD NEWS: Los Angeles Lakers head coach angry announced resignation immediate and exit today after….
For a few months now, the Los Angeles Lakers’ narrative has been unchanged. With a well-balanced offense, they seem to be a great offensive club that can score points whenever they want. However, Anthony Davis, who is once again vying for Defensive Player of the Year, is mostly responsible for the defense.
Furthermore, new statistics indicate that the Lakers’ defense might be making a late-season push, despite the fact that the team’s offensive-heavy lineup has been the focus since the team’s turnaround started in February. The Lakers have a 9-1 record over their previous 10 games, and their defense is ranked fifth in the NBA. They come in fourth.during the previous five games.
It has been a team effort from Austin Reaves to LeBron James and everyone in between, and Davis is no longer expected to carry the full defensive load. Gabe Vincent’s return has also been helpful. Because of this, Davis thinks the Lakers are getting close to their ideal defensive position as a unit.
“We are very close. We’re conversing and covering for one another,” Davis remarked. It’s obvious that Vando is absent. I’m not sure when he’ll be back, but AR is playing in a lot of important games. We have faith in our defense. I believe that defensively, we are now on the string, but we are all playing more defensively to make up for the significant piece that we are lacking.
This is the best the Lakers have looked defensively all season. It also arrives just in time as the Play-In Tournament draws closer. Even though the Lakers’ offense was almost unbeatable, it was becoming obvious that their playing philosophy would not carry over into the postseason. They are now at last playing a style of basketball in the postseason that can win games and even series.
