One MLB manager has praised Anthony Volpe, saying he has continued where he left off during his outstanding debut season with the New York Yankees.

According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, Miami Marlins manager Skip Schumaker praised Volpe as a budding superstar for his exceptional play during the team’s early 2024 MLB season:

Schumaker remarked, “Volpe at shortstop is becoming a superstar in this league.” Even though I don’t like to watch this series, I find it entertaining to watch the way he plays shortstop and approaches the plate as a baseball fan.

During the Yankees’ 7-0 victory over the Marlins on Monday, Volpe hit his second home run of the short season and matched his career high of three runs drove in. He also played well during their early season series.

The 2024 MLB season is off to a scorching start for the reigning Gold Glove award winner. Volpe is hitting well at the plate in addition to having a.967 fielding percentage, which is exactly equal to his.970 fielding percentage from his rookie campaign, which won him the best defensive award at shortstop.

As a rookie, Volpe shown that he could have done more when it came to his effectiveness at the plate. Although he did hit 21 home runs, his batting average of.209 was not up to par. Now, despite the tiny sample size, the remarkable increase in efficiency is a sign of hope for both Marlins manager Schumaker and Yankees manager Aaron Boone to attempt and limit.

The Yankees are without a doubt the finest team in baseball at the moment, and while OF Juan Soto is receiving a lot of credit for his achievements, Volpe also makes a significant contribution.
