“I AM LEAVING”: Warrington Wolves key player shocked fans with immediate resignation and exit today after facing….
Connor Wrench was pulled off the field during Warrington Wolves’ victory against Leigh Leopards due to an ankle injury, but Sam Burgess is optimistic it is “nothing drastic.”
After cutting inside from the right edge and finding a gap in the defensive line in the first half, the homegrown center was stopped just short of the try line and hobbled off.
At The Halliwell Jones Stadium, The Wire overcame an eight-point deficit to win 16–14 after Stefan Ratchford took his place on the right edge.
Since joining the first team, Wrench has experienced a number of injuries. The most significant of these was an ACL tear that kept him out of the game for more than half of 2023.
Burgess hopes he won’t be gone for too long, but he will now be scanned.
“We’ll get that scanned because he has an ankle problem,” he stated.
“I don’t believe that to be very significant. It’s just a part of the game since nothing will keep him out of the game for very long.
Burgess attested that no other injuries of note seemed to be sustained throughout the match; as a result, The Wire will now have seven days off before traveling to the Salford Red Devils.
