VERY SAD UPDATE: Wests Tigers Recruitment Boss axed..’Sacked’

The seemingly never-ending drama unfolding in the Wests Tigers has turned into another twist with head coach for recruitment axed and sacked from his job.

Scott Fulton part ways with the club just within a year into his tenure. Fulton was informed of the decision by new interim CEO Shane Richardson, with the news continuing a busy off-season at Concord after their entire board was overhauled last month following a club review.

Fulton was signed by former chairman Lee Hagipantelis and CEO Justin Pascoe last year in a move which caused ruptures within the coaching staff at the time.

It was reported then head coach Tim Sheens had had no say in the decision, while an ugly stand-off between Benji Marshall and Fulton dominated headlines last year over perceived disagreements with recruitment strategy.

Marshall has since taken over after Sheens announced his departure mid-season just a year into a planned long-term succession plan.

The rookie coach will now form part of a three-man recruitment panel, also consisting of Richardson and interim head of football Matthew Betsey.

The move comes in the wake of the Tigers landing their biggest signing in recent memory when they secured three-time premiership-winning playmaker Jarome Luai from Penrith.
