The West Virginia University School of Nursing continues to expand international nursing education in the Mountain State.

WVU has partnered with Arellano University-International Nursing Program, which is based in the Philippines.

The program is a 3+1 curriculum; Arellano students remain in the Philippines for the first three years of their studies before relocating to Morgantown to complete their final year.

The first cohort of students for the partnership will be admitted in August and arrive in Morgantown for the fall 2027 semester.

Arellano students can expect access to many of the same resources as WVU students on campus.

Once in Morgantown, Arellano students will also receive additional support.

In October, WVU faculty plans to visit the Arellano University campus to continue growing the partnership.

Part of the reason the 2023 West Virginia University baseball season was so special was because the team set multiple attendance records.

The total season attendance is a 12% increase from last year’s number of 59,894, which was a record at the time.

In WVU’s series against Baylor in April, 11,210 fans passed the turnstiles over the weekend to set an all-time series attendance record that was previously set last year against Oklahoma (10,671).

During the Oklahoma series in 2023, WVU fans set a single-game attendance record with 4,387 fans in the stands.

Like the other milestones from 2023, that record broke when the Mountaineers hosted 4,614 fans during the first Backyard Brawl matchup of the season in April.
