SAD NEWS: West Virginia University announced that Garrett Greene is Leaving immediately after Facing…..

Pitching, as always, is a topic of conversation in postseason play, but there probably aren’t any mysteries in what West Virginia will do on the mound, at least with its initial starting assignments.
Derek Clark (8-2, 2.82 ERA, 1.08 WHIP) and Tyler Switalski (5-2, 5.34 ERA, 1.58 WHIP) will get the ball on Friday and Saturday. But what about Sunday? Or, what if one or the other falters early?
That’s where Aidan Major becomes a wildcard who could fill multiple roles.
He might be called upon if one of the early games threatens to get out of control, or he might be tabbed as the Sunday starter, if that game is necessary.
No decision has to be made on that now, and Major’s flexibility is something that could be very important in this series.
The official 27-man roster for each contest can be changed right up to the meeting at home plate with the umpires before each game, but for now it looks like Gavin Van Kempen might again be off that list.
He did not pitch in either the Big 12 Championship or the Tucson Regional, and is still recovering from an undisclosed injury.
In addition to the 27 players allowed to dress in uniform and play in the game, teams are limited to an additional 13 people, plus one bat handler, in the dugout.
That may sound like a lot, but when you have four coaches, 4-5 ops and other coaching personnel, trainers, nutritionists, etc., that number gets eaten up fast.
