Baltimore Ravens news

My condolences: Baltimore Ravens HC (John Harbaugh) and one year old baby die in car crash…..

Connor Williams visited with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, as the veteran center seeks a new home in free agency.

Schefter reported that Williams is currently deciding between offers from the Ravens and Seattle Seahawks, with a source saying he “should make a decision soon.”

Williams’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, appeared on the Joe Rose Radio Show Monday and said he was negotiating with Seattle, and expecting to have a deal for Williams done within the next two days (h/t Scott Salomon of SI.com).

“He’s healthy. He’s going to be able to play in the first game,” Rosenhaus said during the interview. “It is the most amazing recovery I have ever seen in my career.”

Williams tore his ACL in December but appears on track to be healthy for the start of the 2024 campaign. At the moment, it would appear Seattle is the favorite to secure his services.

The Ravens have Tyler Linderbaum at center and players like Patrick Mekari, Ben Cleveland and Andrew Vorhees already fighting for the backup spot, though they could move Williams back to guard if they sign him.

Williams, 27, served as a left guard for the Dallas Cowboys during the first four years of his career before signing with the Miami Dolphins ahead of the 2022 season, who moved him to center.

He made 51 starts for the Cowboys at guard and 26 for the Dolphins at center.

The Seahawks, on the other hand, have much less certainty at center and would benefit from adding a player of Williams’ caliber.

“It’s open,” head coach Mike MacDonald told reporters Monday regarding the starting competition at the position.
