SAD DEPARTURE: Kirby Smart announce departing and confirms the list of 5 players set to depart From Georgia Bulldogs Read More…..

It has been a while since the Las Vegas Raiders were a legitimately good team. They have made the playoffs just once in the last 20-plus years, and they have been a laughingstock during that time.

The memories of them reaching the Super Bowl during the 2002 season with Rich Gannon, who led the NFL in passing yards that year, under center are very distant now, and their fans are beyond frustrated.

Las Vegas’ biggest need is a competent quarterback, but luckily, they could have a real shot at one in free agency. Matthew Stafford, the former Georgia Bulldogs star, could be on his way to leaving the Los Angeles Rams via trade, and the Raiders have come up as a potential trade partner.

Vincent Bonsignore, who covers the Raiders for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and used to cover the Rams, posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Stafford cannot be ruled out as an option for the team. He also added that minority owner Tom Brady looking to recruit a solid QB could be a factor.

Obviously, Stafford wouldn’t be a long-term solution for the Raiders, but he could serve as a bridge to their next starting QB. Under new head coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, he could excel in the type of fast-paced offense they’re sure to employ.

He threw for 3,762 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2024 and is just one year removed from getting his second Pro Bowl nod.
