Sad news from St. Louis Cardinals fire director of….

The St. Louis Cardinals have confirmed the firing of an employee who used inappropriate language during a business call earlier this month.
Multiple sources tell 5 On Your Side that the employee in question is Cardinals director of security Phil Melcher.
The Cardinals did not release the employee’s name or title, saying he was fired that day.
The Cardinals released a statement Tuesday that read:
On Friday, October 13, we were shocked to learn that during a routine business call on the same day, representatives of Cardinal St. Louis and many other members of the Downtown St. Louis participant, an employee of St. The St. Louis Cardinals unfortunately used some very inappropriate and hurtful language. Such language is completely unacceptable and should not be held by St. Louis Cardinals accepts under no circumstances and in no way reflects or represents our organization. As a proud member of the St. Louis, we know there is no place for hurtful or divisive language and we truly regret that one of our employees engaged in such behavior. As soon as he learned of this incident, Cardinal St. Louis ended its working relationship with this individual on Friday, October 13, and on the same day, the St. Louis issued an apology to all participants on the call.


Earlier this month, thieves broke into the Cardinals’ facility in the Dominican Republic and allegedly held players and coaches at gunpoint. Money, cell phones, jewelry and baseball equipment were stolen. The incident occurred early in the morning of October 13, the same day this employee was fired.
