There’s no doubt that Las Vegas Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler hit the ground running this offseason by signing and bringing back wide receiver Jakobi Meyers this offseason.
Meyers had a great season for the Silver and Black. He has 37 receptions for 385 yards and five touchdowns this season.
This Monday night will be the second time he’s faced the Lions in Meyers’ career.
Meyers’ first career game with the Lions came last year during the 2022-23 NFL season against the New England Patriots.
Meyers finished the game with seven receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown against the Lions.
Last week against the Bears, he finished the game with seven receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown. He was the lone scorer for the Silver and Black offense in a 30-12 loss to the Bears.
According to Pro Football Focus, Meyers is ranked 13th among all wide receiver targets. He also ranks 15th among all wide receivers in receptions, 26th in receiving yards and is fourth in receiving yards this season.
With Monday’s touchdown against the Lions, Meyers will become one of 14 players in Raiders history since Michael Crabtree in 2017 to score six or more touchdowns in the first seven games of a season.
Meyers’ five touchdowns this season leads all current Lion tight ends and receiving touchdowns. Amon-Ra St. Lions Brown, Sam LaPorta and Josh Reynolds are all tied for passing for three touchdowns so far this season.
The Raiders are 2-4 against the Lions and a win would move the Raiders all-time record to 7-17 against the NFC North.
Keep an eye out for Meyers this Monday night as he takes on the Lions for the second time in his career.
