OF Aaron Judge announcement that he is leaving New York Yankees Now another significant issue for team…..
The New York Yankees carry a two-game winning streak into their three-game series with the Miami Marlins which starts on Monday at Yankee Stadium.
The Yankees (8-2) will square off with a Marlins (0-9) team that is still looking for its first win of the season.
New York lost its home opener against Toronto on Friday, 3-0. But the Yankees bounced back to win the final two games of the series, winning 9-8 on Saturday and 8-3 on Sunday.
Giancarlo Stanton’s bat is undergoing a resurgence, as he leads the Yankees with three home runs. Oswaldo Cabrera and Aaron Judge each have two home runs.
Shortstop Anthony Volpe is hitting a blistering .424 with a team-leading 14 hits, with a home run and three RBI.
Cabrera leads the team with eight RBI, while Juan Soto has seven RBI.
Luke Weaver, a reliever, leads the Yankees with three victories.
He’s claimed the win in all three of his appearances so far. Clay Holmes has saved four of the Yankees’ eight wins.
Loáisiga made two trips to the IL last season due to elbow inflammation, including one that necessitated surgery to remove a bone spur.
With that in mind, Yankees had put together a plan to help the reliever stay healthy in 2024, according to Dan Martin and Mark W. Sanchez of the New York Post.
The plan involved slating Loáisiga to pitch multiple innings at a time with no back-to-backs and days of rest built in between appearances, Martin and Sanchez reported.
The Yankees appeared to follow that plan through the first week of the season, which saw Loáisiga pitch two innings on Thursday, March 28, followed by one inning apiece Sunday and Wednesday.
Loáisiga allowed seven hits and one walk, while striking out three and allowing no runs over the span.
