Done Deal: Texas Longhorns has officially announce the signing of a talented player…

The Early Signing Period may be coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean that the Texas Longhorns are done adding to their 2024 class.

Late Friday night, Texas landed another commit to their already elite class, snagging a commitment from four-star Calabasas (CA) athlete Aaron Butler.

Butler also signed his national letter of intent with the Horns Friday night, making him an official member of the Horns top-five 2024 recruiting class.

When it comes to Butler, he is viewed as having two-way abilities, and that seemed to be the plan for him at Colorado.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, he ranks as the No. 179 player in the country, the No. 7 athlete in the nation, and the No. 16 player in California.

With the addition of Butler, the Horns now move into the No. 3 spot in the On3 national team rankings, and stay at No. 2 in the Rivals.com rankings. Texas also ranks No. 3 per 247Sports.

The Calabasas product opted to not finish out his high school season after an injury and instead focused on preparing to enroll early back in September.

In just four games before he opted out, Butler had 28 catches for 586 yards and five touchdowns, per Max Preps. In 11 games in 2022, Butler had 38 catches for 830 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Longhorns have a need at both wide receiver and in the secondary next season thanks to veteran players departing, and the late flip of four-star Athlete Aeryn Hampton, Butler could come in and potentially fit either need.

That said, he should start on the offensive side of the ball for Steve Sarkisian.
