Tar heels

REPORT: TAR HEEL RECEIVE STRONG WARNING FROM THE NBA TODAY….

If you like offense, get prepared for points aplenty when No. 1 North Carolina takes on No. 4 Alabama in the Sweet 16 Thursday night in Los Angeles.

Tip-off is set for approximately 9:30 p.m. ET with live coverage on CBS.

The Tar Heels and Crimson Tide have been rolling through March Madness with two of the top offenses in the nation.

UNC struggled early in Saturday’s second round game against Michigan State.

The Tar Heels trailed the Tom Izzo-led Spartans by 12 points before going on a 23-3 run to end the half.

They expanded on their nine-point halftime lead to win 85-69 and easily cover ATS as a four-point favorite.

Alabama was also somewhat contained in its previous game against Grand Canyon.

The Crimson Tide, the country’s top-scoring team at 90.7 PPG, was held to 72 points.

Alabama also covered the number as a 6.5-point favorite in Sunday’s 72-61 win over the Antelopes.

This upcoming episode of March Madness features two teams who love to run and score in transition.

Strap in and take a look at Alabama vs. North Carolina odds and an ATS prediction for this Sweet 16 matchup.

Mark Sears is the man to watch for Alabama.

The team leader with 21. 5 points per game, Sears showed out with 26 points and 12 rebounds (for a guard!) in the win over Grand Canyon.

The Crimson Tide lost fellow guard and starter Latrell Wrightsell Jr. to a head injury early in that game.

Head coach Nate Oats believes Wrightsell will be able to go against UNC.

In his absence, freshman Mouhamed Dioubate stepped up big with all nine of his points coming in the final 5:30 minutes of the game.

Alabama doesn’t lack for scoring with three other players aside from Sears averaging in double figures.
