Big Shocking Congratulation: Kevin Durant Is Now Crowned And Appointed as The New Coach Of…See More…
Dating back to June, after the Phoenix Suns lost in the first round of the NBA playoffs to the Minnesota Timberwolves, there have been rumblings that Kevin Durant might be on the trade block.
He has casually been linked to the Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat, although no traction has publicly been made on a trade for him.
This year, the Suns are 9-7, good for seventh in the Western Conference, but Durant has missed the last seven games.
So far this season, he is averaging 27.6 points on 42.9% from 3-point range, which is the second-best mark of his career.
In the nine games he played in, the Suns were 8-1 and clearly one of the best teams in the NBA.
With Durant expected back before Christmas, the Suns will have plenty of time to get back on track and gear up for a deep playoff run.
Bradley Beal is shooting 38.3% from deep, and Devin Booker is in a bit of a slump, but there’s no reason to panic, which is exactly what Suns’ owner Mat Ishbia has said.
“Kevin Durant is not going anywhere,” Ishbia told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Wednesday.
“We’re trying to compete at the highest level, and there are 29 other teams that are trying to do it, but when you have a chance or an opportunity, you want to take advantage of it.”
