Matt Goodheart began his Arkansas career when he transferred from San Jacinto Community College after his freshman year in 2018.

Goodheart spoke with All Razorbacks Vice Editor, Dalton Herring, about his baseball career.

Matt Goodheart was a part of some extremely talented Arkansas teams.

He helped the teams go to two College World Series appearances.

Matt Goodheart said, “Going to Omaha in 2019 was amazing and the run in 2021 we had as well … being a part of such an elite team.”

In 2021, Matt Goodheart played 55 games with 54 starts in his senior year.

Of those games, 43 of them he played as a designated hitter, six were in right field, three were at first base, and two in left field.

Throughout the season he averaged a .264 batting average, a .386 on-base percentage, and a .481 slugging percentage and hit 13 home runs as well as 38 runs batted in.

He was named All-SEC First Team, NCAA Fayetteville Regional All-Tournament Team, SEC Player of the Week (March 29), Collegiate.

Baseball Newspaper National Player Of The Week (April 19), and Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll during this season.

Currently, Goodheart is a hitting coach at Southern Arkansas University Tech in Camden, Arkansas. Of this team, Goodheart stated, “We are a D2 Junior College entering our 3rd year as a program.

I stay very busy just trying to help build [the baseball team] from the ground up.”
