Everton fan protests during Man Utd game…

Carlo Ancelotti says Jude Bellingham is “fine” after he scored in Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over Cadiz.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been nursing a dislocated shoulder injury after an awkward fall early on during the goalless draw with Rayo Vallecano on November 5.

The injury resulted in Bellingham missing England’s international games against Malta and North Macedonia earlier this month.

However, he was named in his side’s starting XI on Sunday and scored Real’s third goal during the victory at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla.

Ancelotti said of the England international: “Bellingham is fine. He still has the problem he had but he is fine with the protection”

Bellingham’s goal against Cadiz was his 11th league goal of the season. He has now scored 14 goals in his first 15 games in all competitions, breaking Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 13 goals in his first 15 matches.

Real are next in action against Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Bruno Fernandes says he felt Marcus Rashford “needed a bit of confidence” after allowing him to take a penalty during Manchester United’s 3-0 victory over Everton.

Rashford, who signed a new five-year contract with the club earlier this year, has endured a difficult start to this season, having scored one goal and providing three assists prior to the game at Goodison Park today.

Fernandes, United’s 29-year-old club captain and designated penalty taker, allowed the 26-year-old to take a penalty in the 56th minute of the game after Anthony Martial was fouled by Ashley Young. Rashford scored to put his side 2-0 up before Martial added a third 19 minutes later.

Fernandes told Sky Sports: “I felt Marcus needed a bit of confidence and needed this goal. Marcus is an excellent penalty taker too and I knew that he could score that penalty. Marcus did it perfectly.

“Strikers and wingers, they want to score goals. They need to score goals. That is part of their game and it gives you a boost. Sometimes you need this opportunity to get your confidence back.

“Marcus has been great for us. Obviously last season, he was amazing so everyone’s expectations for him this season were much higher. It is just about getting his goals back and everyone saying that he is world-class again.”

United manager Erik ten Hag also commented on the Portuguese midfielder’s decision to allow Rashford to take the penalty saying: “Take the ball, get your confidence, and as a team, you need that.

“You need that leadership, you need to back each other, cover for each other and help each other. You need this to have a successful season.”

Alejandro Garnacho scored the opening goal of the game and later described it as “one of the best goals: he has ever scored. The 19-year-old Argentina international got onto the end of a Diogo Dalot cross three minutes into the game and fired a sensational effort past Jordan Pickford.

United, who are sixth in the Premier League, are next in action against Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday.
