Another injury report from Tampa bay buccaneers…

The Buccaneers saw some notable downgrades during Thursday’s practice ahead of their divisional tilt against the lowly Carolina Panthers.

Receiver Chris Godwin practiced in a limited fashion with a neck injury that has seemingly bothered him off and on over the last month or so. It hasn’t cost him any games thus far, so it seems more precautionary than anything else but it does bear monitoring.

Linebacker Devin White’s continued struggles with injuries are not going away, as he went from limited on Wednesday to DNP due to his foot. The litany of dings this year has clearly hampered his play to take him from mediocre to basically unplayable, as he’s been Pro Football Focus’s worst-rated inside linebacker (out of 82 qualified players).

With Lavonte David already poised to miss another week with a groin tweak (he’s been DNP two days in a row), it may be tough to swallow White’s absence as well. However, it might also be best for the coaching staff to intervene and let K.J. Britt and SirVocea Dennis handle duties this week — presuming the latter can recover from an illness that has held him out.

Jamel Dean remained out, as did defensive lineman Mike Greene in what would be further hits to the defensive depth. In a shred of good news, Carlton Davis improved from limited to full with his ankle.

As much as Tampa is piecing their depth chart together right now, Carolina is a full-blown disaster. It has 14 players on the injury report, 13 of whom were limited or out. Notable injuries include safeties Vonn Bell, Xavier Woods, and Jeremy Chinn; tight end Hayden Hurst; and offensive linemen Cade Mays, Taylor Moton, and Nash Jensen.
