In addition to being a difference maker at defensive tackle, DaQuan Jones is also a NFL insider it seems.
The Buffalo Bills defensive tackle reported on Twitter/X on Saturday that the Bills would be signing fellow defensive tackle Austin Johnson to their roster later today.
Johnson even responded to Jones’ initial tweet writing, “Alright Mr. Schefter lmao.”
The reported move comes just days after Jones expressed his desire for the Bills to sign Johnson.
On social media, Jones wrote, “Whoa Austin Johnson is a hell of a player and would look great in a bills uni.
Jones would certainly know as the two were teammates at Penn State in 2013 and would go on to be teammates in the NFL.
Jones’ final season with the Nittany Lions was Johnson’s first with the team.
Johnson would have three tackles for loss as a freshman and add 21 more over the next two seasons.
After an impressive career at Penn State, the Tennessee Titans would draft Johnson with a second round pick (No. 43 overall).
From 2016-2019, Johnson and Jones were teammates with the Titans.
Johnson would leave Tennessee in 2020 and spend the next two seasons with the New York Giants. Most recently, Johnson played for the Los Angeles Chargers.
After a few years apart, it appears that Johnson and Jones will be reunited. That is, of course, as long as Jones’ “sources” are reliable.
