Bill Simmons, a sports expert, gave the Nuggets a lot of credit but oddly omitted to name the Thunder and Clippers as serious contenders in the Western Conference.

The Denver Nuggets have had yet another fantastic season after winning a title. The Boston Celtics could ruin Michael Malone’s team’s hopes of winning the Larry O’Brien Trophy again, but their chances are as good as anyone else’s.

According to The Bill Simmons Podcast, well-known commentator Bill Simmons believes these two teams will play each other in the NBA Finals. Even while it’s not very exciting to just choose the best teams in each conference, he did had an unusual opinion about other Western Conference contenders. The CEO of “The Ringer” notably excluded the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Clippers from his list of genuine conference competitors, citing only the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves.

“Three Western teams, in my opinion, can go to the championship game. Additionally, Simmons predicted that Denver would advance to the championship game, with Dallas and Minnesota rounding out the field. “I believe that to be the end of the list. You have to give whoever makes it to the conference finals a serious chance. In the East, Boston and the random wild card East are the next to compete. Actually, it’s four teams plus the East runner-up. But Dallas, Denver, and Minnesota are my top three.

Is Simmons right, or is he sleeping with certain teams that are very competitive?

Until they are shown differently, it is a given that the Nuggets are the greatest team in the West. Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic are playing flawlessly together, and Jokic has a good chance of winning MVP this year again. When you include further shooting threats like Michael Porter Jr., Denver might be impossible to defeat once more.

However, the Mavericks and Timberwolves are legitimate teams to support. After recovering from his injuries, standout big man Karl Anthony-Towns will make Minnesota a formidable opponent. At 108.7, the team has the best defensive rating in the NBA. When Towns teams up with Rudy Gobert and Anthony Edwards during the playoffs, opponents will have problems on both sides of the court.

Still, the Thunder are just as deadly. The young team features a formidable trio consisting of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, and Jalen Williams. With 30.4 points per game, Gilgeous-Alexander is third in the league behind only Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic. After Victor Wenbanyama, Holmgren has emerged as the league’s second-best rookie. Moreover, they are bound together are just one game behind the Nuggets for first place in the Western Conference, tied for second with Minnesota.

It’s reasonable to worry about the Thunder’s lack of experience as their main weakness. When the lights go bright, it always helps to have the experience of those who have been there before. Actually, Oklahoma City was the newest team in the league when the season began.
