Done deal: The Louisville cardinals have officially traded their best Colorado guard J’Vonne Hadley was signed today….

The arrival of Pat Kelsey to the Louisville men’s basketball team for the 2024–25 campaign is a significant one.

After visiting U of L over the weekend, Colorado guard J’Vonne Hadley revealed on Tuesday that he was selecting the Cardinals. Hadley had already reduced his final list of options to USC and Louisville.

Hadley, a shooting guard who stands 6’6 and weighs 205 pounds, was a multi-talented player for a Colorado squad that advanced to the NCAA tournament this year and won two games. During his second campaign with the Buffaloes, he shot 41.7 percent from three, 83.9 percent from the free-throw line, 53.8 percent from the field, and averaged 11.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.

Tad Boyle, the head coach at CU, called Hadley the “heart

and spirit” as well as the “unsung star” of a Buffalo team that broke the school’s winning record. He’ll bring to Louisville the “junkyard dog,” as Doyle would say, which the Cards have sorely missed in recent years.

Hadley is that all-around, “do all the little things right” kind of player that all the best college basketball teams tend to have, even though he might not be the star of an offense that the supporters want to be the best.
