The Pittsburgh Steelers’ rivalry won’t end because Patrick Queen’s old teammate is on the opposing side.

Pittsburgh This summer, Patrick Queen completed a unique transfer from the Baltimore Ravens to the Pittsburgh Steelers, a free agency, across divisional boundaries in the AFC North.

Roquan Smith, Queen’s former defensive partner at inside linebacker for the Ravens, is pleased for his former teammate but isn’t letting the animosity with the Steelers go away while his old friend is on the other sideline. Indeed, he will be searching for a non-violent means of retaliating against Queen at some point this season.

Smith remarked, “It’s not weird at all,” about Queen’s blurring of rivalry lines. “Life happens, you know, so he’s not here right now. I had the privilege to demolish his portrait in the linebacker room. We have linebackers all over the place, so I should definitely record a video of myself punching one of them or something. Alternatively, I would ask Chris Horton, the special teams coordinator, to go out there and maybe run a punt play. I’m hoping that today will be the one where we can just get along.”

Smith must hold onto the most important thing as they part ways, even though he still has feelings for Queen, who together made up the core of a formidable Ravens defense for the previous 15 games.
