Why martin truex Jr. Chose To Take Over Spire as New Motorsports As New Co- owner After Rejecting Michael Jordan’s 23Xl Racing……
Michael Jordan is taking the NASCAR, the
American auto racing giant, to the court over a disputed revenue-sharing model.
Jordan, who won six NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls and is considered by many as the greatest basketball player of all time, is also the owner of 23XI Racing, a team that competes in the NASCAR.
Hall of Fame basketball player Jordan-owned 23XI Racing and another NASCAR team Front Row Motorsports have filed an antitrust lawsuit in the USA against the auto racing company and its chairman Jim France.
The NASCAR teams are claiming that the new charter system in NASCAR limits competition by unfairly binding teams to the series, its tracks, and its suppliers.
In their statement, they said that it’s time for their “targets to stand up and refuse to be victims”.
“The France family and NASCAR are monopolistic bullies,” the teams said in the lawsuit, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press.
“And bullies will continue to impose their will to hurt others until their targets stand up and refuse to be victims. That moment has now arrived.”
NASCAR in early September presented its final offer on what is essentially a revenue sharing model; 13 organizations signed, with most saying they did so under duress or felt threatened into doing so.
But 23XI Racing, the team co-owned by Jordan and veteran driver Denny Hamlin, and the smaller Front Row team refused to sign.
