The following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates’ Court…
LLOYD WELCH, 36, of Blakeney Road, Southampton, admitted one count of harassment in breach of a restraining order against Ashburton Close in Dibden Purlieu .
He was jailed for seven weeks and ordered to pay ยฃ45 court costs.
JOHN NEWMAN, 69, of Upper Toothill Road, Rownhams pleaded guilty to failing to comply with his notification requirements on the sex offenders’ register to the extent that he failed to complete the annual notification requirements and was late seven days.
Newman was fined ยฃ200 and ordered to pay court costs of ยฃ85 plus a surcharge of ยฃ80.
LACEY SAFE, aged 37, of Lexby Road, Totton admitted using threatening and abusive words or behavior likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
He also pleaded guilty to assault by beating an emergency worker in Fordingbridge. Safe was given a one-year community sentence with a six-month alcohol rehabilitation requirement and 15 days of rehabilitation activity.
He must also pay ยฃ50 compensation to the police.
VIRGILIJUS JANULEVICIUS, 61, of St Mary Street, Southampton pleaded guilty to harassment in breach of a restraining order.
They were sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, 10 days of re-education and 60 hours of unpaid work. Janulevicius must also pay court costs of ยฃ85 plus a surcharge of ยฃ128.
DWAIN WARD, 40, of Howards Grove, Shirley admitted shoplifting when he stole ยฃ26.60 worth of meat from the Co-op in Millbrook Road West. Ward was fined ยฃ100 and must pay a surcharge of ยฃ40.
BOBBIE SPAKE, 29, of Canon Place, Southampton, was convicted of possessing a gravity knife or gravity knife in Southampton.
He was sentenced to 18 weeks, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work.
Spake must also pay ยฃ150 court costs and a ยฃ128 surcharge. An order was issued to confiscate and destroy the knife.
